Product warranty

At Forever Young Outfitters, we offer diving, snorkeling, freediving, spearfishing, watersports, and related outdoor equipment from a variety of manufacturers. Many of the products we sell may include a manufacturer’s warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship. Because warranty terms vary by brand, product category, and model, all warranty coverage is subject to the specific terms established by the manufacturer.

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing for a particular product, Forever Young Outfitters does not provide a separate product warranty or extend, modify, or replace the warranty offered by the manufacturer. The manufacturer’s warranty terms in effect for the applicable product determine the duration of coverage, eligibility requirements, exclusions, available remedies, and warranty claim process.

Manufacturer warranty coverage

Manufacturer warranties vary considerably between products. Depending on the brand and item, warranty coverage may apply for a specific period or, in limited cases, for the useful life of certain components. Some manufacturers may also require product registration, proof of purchase, a serial number, maintenance records, or other documentation to establish warranty eligibility.

Warranty coverage generally applies to manufacturing defects that occur during normal and intended use of the product. The manufacturer determines whether a condition qualifies as a covered defect and whether the appropriate remedy is repair, replacement, replacement of a component, store or manufacturer credit, or another remedy permitted under its warranty.

We strongly recommend reviewing the warranty documentation included with your product and any warranty information provided by the manufacturer before use. If warranty coverage is an important part of your purchasing decision and the applicable warranty information is not listed on the product page, please contact us at shop@diveyoung.com before placing your order and we will assist you in locating the available warranty information.

Diving and watersports equipment

Diving and watersports equipment is designed to operate in demanding environments involving water, pressure, salt, sand, sunlight, temperature changes, and repeated use. Manufacturer warranties commonly distinguish between a manufacturing defect and damage resulting from normal wear, improper care, accidental damage, or use outside the product’s specifications.

Depending on the manufacturer and product, warranty coverage may exclude normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, cuts, punctures, abrasions, impact damage, misuse, neglect, improper storage, improper installation or assembly, corrosion caused by insufficient care, chemical exposure, exceeding specified depth or pressure limits, improper battery installation, battery leakage, damaged seals or O-rings, flooding caused by improper closure or maintenance, and modifications or repairs that cause or contribute to the reported damage.

Products intended for underwater use are not automatically excluded from manufacturer warranty coverage simply because they have been used or submerged as intended. However, damage caused by improper use, maintenance, assembly, storage, or operation outside the manufacturer’s specifications may not be covered. Final coverage decisions are made according to the applicable manufacturer’s warranty.

Regulators, BCDs, dive computers, and other safety-critical equipment

Certain diving products, including regulators, buoyancy compensators, dive computers, transmitters, gauges, valves, and other safety-related equipment, may have manufacturer-specific inspection, maintenance, servicing, or registration recommendations or requirements.

Customers should follow all manufacturer instructions, maintenance schedules, depth and pressure limitations, care procedures, and safety information supplied with the product. We recommend retaining documentation for any inspection or service performed on equipment when those records may be relevant to a future warranty claim.

If any safety-related diving equipment shows signs of malfunction, leakage, abnormal operation, physical damage, or any condition that could affect its safe performance, discontinue use and have the equipment properly evaluated before using it again.

Warranty claims

Warranty claims are handled according to the procedure established by the product manufacturer. Depending on the brand, customers may be directed to the manufacturer, an authorized service center, an authorized dealer, or another designated warranty provider.

Forever Young Outfitters does not determine the manufacturer’s warranty coverage or control the manufacturer’s decision regarding approval, repair, replacement, processing time, or other resolution. However, we are happy to assist customers with identifying the appropriate warranty process, locating manufacturer contact information, confirming purchase information, or providing a copy of an available order receipt.

Before shipping any product for warranty evaluation, customers should obtain any required authorization, RMA number, shipping instructions, or other information from the manufacturer or designated service provider. Products should not be sent to Forever Young Outfitters for warranty service unless we have specifically instructed you to do so.

Proof of purchase and product registration

We recommend keeping your Forever Young Outfitters order confirmation or sales receipt for the life of the product. Manufacturers may require proof of the original purchase date, product serial number, warranty registration, or other documentation when evaluating a warranty claim.

Some manufacturers offer additional benefits or extended warranty coverage when a product is registered within a specific period after purchase. Registration requirements vary by manufacturer, so customers are responsible for reviewing and completing any applicable registration process.

We also recommend retaining the product manual, warranty documentation, serial number information, accessories, and original packaging when practical, as some of these materials may be useful during warranty service or transportation.

Defective, damaged, missing, or incorrect items upon delivery

Warranty claims are separate from issues involving merchandise that arrives defective, damaged, missing, or different from what was ordered.

If you receive an item that is defective, damaged, missing, or incorrect, please contact us at shop@diveyoung.com within two business days of delivery in accordance with our Refund Policy. We may request photographs of the item, packaging, shipping label, serial number, or visible damage so that we can evaluate the issue and determine the appropriate next steps.

If Forever Young Outfitters verifies that the problem resulted from our error or that an item arrived defective, we will handle the matter according to our Refund Policy, which may include a prepaid return label and, depending on the circumstances, a replacement, store credit, or refund.

Returns versus warranty claims

Our Return and Refund Policy and a manufacturer’s product warranty are separate.

Merchandise that has been used, worn, washed, altered, tested in water, or submerged may no longer qualify for a standard return under our Return and Refund Policy. However, this does not automatically eliminate any manufacturer warranty that may apply to the product.

If a product develops a suspected manufacturing defect after it has been used as intended, the issue may instead qualify for evaluation under the manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty eligibility and coverage will be determined according to the manufacturer’s applicable terms and conditions.

Warranty shipping and service costs

Shipping, inspection, diagnostic, labor, repair, replacement, and other costs associated with a warranty claim are governed by the applicable manufacturer’s warranty and service procedures.

Some manufacturers may cover certain costs associated with an approved warranty claim, while others may require the customer to pay shipping, inspection, service, or other expenses. Unless Forever Young Outfitters has expressly agreed otherwise in writing or the issue is covered under our Refund Policy as an error by Forever Young Outfitters or a verified defect upon delivery, we do not guarantee reimbursement of expenses associated with a manufacturer warranty claim.

Customers shipping valuable diving equipment for warranty evaluation are encouraged to follow the manufacturer’s shipping instructions and use appropriate tracking and insurance when applicable.

Warranty exclusions and final determinations

Forever Young Outfitters cannot approve, deny, extend, or otherwise alter a manufacturer’s warranty. Any warranty determination, including whether a condition constitutes a manufacturing defect, whether the warranty remains in effect, and what remedy will be provided, is subject to the manufacturer’s applicable warranty terms and evaluation.

Warranty coverage does not replace proper equipment care, inspection, maintenance, training, or safe use. Customers are responsible for using products only for their intended purposes and in accordance with all manufacturer instructions, warnings, specifications, and applicable training requirements.

Nothing in this policy is intended to limit or exclude any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under applicable law.
